Royal bride-to-be Meghan Markle’s travel hacks have been revealed

American actress, Meghan Markle, is due to marry Prince Harry of Wales on 19 May, and the 36-year-old former star of Suits is known to be very well-travelled. Some of the tips she has previously shared around packing and vacationing have surfaced, and these will naturally serve her well during her royal honeymoon and future engagements abroad.

After the wedding takes place at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, the royal newlyweds are likely to head off on honeymoon. We all know that our suitcases can lose their freshness thanks to the accumulation of dirty laundry, but one item that Meghan has previously admitted packing in her suitcase is dryer sheets. These are designed to be used in tumble dryers to give your laundry a fresh scent while they’re being dried and take care of static.

Prior to her royal engagement, Meghan had a website called The Tig, which chronicled her travel, food, and fashion obsessions. While curating an adventure-themed box for Birchbox, a company that delivers a monthly box of personalised makeup, hair and skincare samples to subscribers’ doors, she advised them to layer dryer sheets between shirts, skirts and dresses. “Your clothes will smell fresh when you arrive,” she said, “and especially when you return home.” This travel hack is likely to have served Meghan well when Prince Harry invited her to join him in Botswana, and they camped out under the stars.

Meghan also revealed her secret to landing fresh-faced after being in the air. “Pack your favourite multi-use stick and face spritz for a quick touch up on cheeks, lips and face when you land,” she advised. Whatever your destination, the bride-to-be extolled the benefits of immersing yourself in the local culture while on vacation. “Find a great cooking class with a local chef, or an art or dance class,” she says, which we think is very good advice.
