The 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro  have been linked to violations of civil liberties according to a report created by a coalition of activists led by the Comité Popular.

The report, called the Exclusion Games, contains a list compiled by academics and nongovernmental organizations of alleged abuses, including evictions, poor working conditions and police violence. According to the report, at least 4120 families have lost their homes and another 2486 are facing removal due to the infrastructure projects associated with the upcoming Olympics and last year’s World Cup; as a result, thousands of displaced children have been unable to gain access to education, healthcare and other social services.
