A cable-car system that will take tourists to the summit of Fansipan mountain in northwest Vietnam has now opened, breaking two Guinness World Records.
The 6282m long route is the longest in the world for a three-rope cable-car, and it sets the record for the world’s biggest ascent at 1410m between departure and end points. Fansipan is Vietnam’s highest peak and is a popular climbing spot. It is typically a two- to three-day hike to reach the summit, but with the cable car visitors can be transported there in 15 minutes.
