London may be playing catch-up with the likes of Munich but better late than never as the city’s inaugural ‘Beer Week’ gets underway.
Glasses are being raised as part of London Beer Week which runs until this Sunday in 100 venues across the city.
The Evening Standard reports that people attending the festival in their favourite pubs can avail of £3 special offers. But the week is not just solely about beer drinking as there will be live music, street food, pop-up bars and even a number of behind-the-scene brewery tours as part of the week.
If you pay £10 for your London Beer Week wristband you will be given free entry across London, and be able to take advantage of discounted pints at 80 pubs and bars.
Hannah Sharman-Cox, who is the founder of London Beer Week is hopeful that this week will help to bring together interested people in the capital’s brewing boom.
She said that London had seen a resurgence of great beers being brewed or embraced across the capital. She believed that following the introduction of the city’s cocktail Week and then its Wine Week that the great British pub and the beers locals drink should not be forgotten.
Ms Sharman-Cox stressed that the festival was a celebration of “all things beer, not just the breweries” around London.
