Pussy Riot member to open women-only museum in Montenegro

Maria Alyokhina, member of Russian female punk band Pussy Riot, is planning to open a museum in Montenegro called New Balkan Women’s Museum.

It will employ only female staff and and promote only women artists. The exact location and opening date of the museum are not yet known. Two members of Alyokhina’s band were imprisoned in Russia in 2012 after their impromptu performance of Punk Prayer in Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Savior in protest against Russian President Putin.
