An iconic piece of New York street art will be taken down, as the parking garage is it painted on will be removed.

A giant mural called “Love Letter Brooklyn” by artist Steve Powers has graced the sides of the parking garage, and connecting sky bridges, since 2011. Now, the parking garage is closing and will be taken down, according to local media reports, along with the artwork.

The massive love letter reads in places “euphoria is you for me” and “I am made to leave I am made to return”. The artist confirmed the closure in an Instagram post last week, writing that it was the last days for Love Letter Brooklyn.

Powers is also known for the creating the mural featured on the album cover of Wakin on a Pretty Daze, a record by Kurt Vile.
