Angry runners have taken to social media to complain about the extra 7km added to Sunday’s Standard Chartered Bangkok Marathon, one of Thailand’s most prestigious marathon events.

The half marathon course measured 28kms, rather than the standard 21.1km, prompting some of the 33,000 local and international participants to accuse organisers of negligence for not making a pre-race announcement about the extended length.
