China’s ever-expanding transit network will include 15 new Beijing subway lines this year.

The city’s rapidly growing transport system will see 554 kilometres of new track opened and 334 new subway stations on either entirely new subway lines or extensions to existing lines. An extension of the Changping Line will provide a new stop at the Ming Tombs, a popular day trip destination from Beijing. A new express line will be completed to the planned Beijing Daxing International Airport, set to open in 2019. Other additions will include a high-speed maglev commuter train and the city’s first unmanned rapid transit line. Read more: thenanfang.com
