Fifty-nine new high-speed rail routes will open on 1 July, connecting Shanghai with other parts of the country. Services will include departures to popular cities like Beijing, Xiamen, Fuzhou and Kunming. A new service to the popular sightseeing destination Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), will reduce travel time from more than 10 hours to just under five. Read more: shanghaiist.com
