Dog owners may soon have the chance to dine with their pooches on patio spaces in Las Vegas.
A new waiver programme with the Southern Nevada Health District will allow restaurants to receive waivers from regulatory requirements that bar dogs from dining areas. The waivers require restaurants to follow a strict set of rules such as providing outdoor entrances to patios and requiring dogs to stay on the ground. The waiver stemmed from the opening of Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar, a California-based chain of restaurants that allow dogs on restaurant patios. Las Vegas health regulations barred pooches even on patios, so the health department began drafting the waiver programme.
