Nepal Airlines, the struggling national airline of Nepal, has taken delivery of a new plane for its international fleet for the first time in 27 years. The airline, which was recently awarded just a single star for safety by the aviation safety website AirlineRatings.com, received the first of two A320-200 planes ordered from European manufacturer Airbus on Sunday, with a second to follow later in the year. For the last three decades, the airline has been dependent on two ageing 757s for all its international routes, and the new aircraft could help the airline regain permission to fly into European airspace, from which it was banned in 2013.
