Flights and ferries continue to be cancelled in Istanbul as the region was hit by heavy snowstorms over the weekend.
Disruptions are set to continue until late 19 January. Turkish Airlines announced that over 100 scheduled flights have been cancelled from both Istanbul’s Atatürk and Sabiha Gökçen Airports. Many ferries have also been cancelled today. Istanbul’s Metropolitan Municipality have reported that a workforce of around 5450 people are working to combat the adverse weather conditions and keep 4000 km of road clear for traffic.
