An abbot monk of a tiger ‘temple’ in central Thailand was left with a broken arm and blood pouring from his face after being mauled by one of 150-odd resident tigers at the weekend. Thai authorities announced plans to close the controversial facility near Kanchanaburi in April due to animal welfare concerns, but to date the temple remains open to visitors.
