McDonald’s is hoping to spice up its food  sales with a sprinkling of love in the run up to Valentine’s Day. The World’s No 1 fast-food chain has experienced a slump in recent quarters and are now tempting customers with the opportunity of ordering a meal without having to pay for it.

From next week, New York Fox News reports, some lucky patrons of McDonald’s restaurants will pay for their meals with ‘love’.

Managers will adjudicate on various ‘acts of love’ where instead of paying for a burger, a member of staff may ask you to ring home to tell your mom you love her. You may have to do a little extra for a bigger meal – from hugging someone or being asked to dance for you supper.

McDonald’s disclosed the ‘love deal’ in a new commercial which was shown during the Super Bowl. The restaurant franchise is treating the promotion as a competition and has posted rules on its website.  As always, there is a snag too…as only five or less customers will be able to get a free meal in any single restaurant while the competition runs.
