A 75-year-old man was caught trying to walk out of Florence’s Museo Novecento with a bronze statue of a head worth around €10,000-20,000 in his bag. The man, who is known to police, was caught on camera unscrewing Renato Mazzacurati’s 1941 Portrait of Walter Conadin from its pedestal, placing it in his bag and trying to walk out. He explained that he felt the head ‘would be better off at home with me’. Read more: ansa.it
