Larsen B, the last intact section of one of Antarctica’s massive ice shelves, is weakening rapidly and a Nasa study released on Thursday shows that it will disintegrate completely by the year 2020. The ice shelf, which is about half the size of Rhode Island, has existed for at least 10,000 years but partially collapsed in 2002. The study shows that the disintegration of the 625-mile ice shelf is contributing to rising sea levels. Read more: theguardian.com
