Luxury Cruise company to spend €100 million on fleet update

Hot on the heels of launching Seven Seas Explorer, described as “the most luxurious ship ever built” last year, the Regent Seven Seas Cruises group is to splash out over €100 million by refurbishing its current three luxury ships.

The company says it wants to create a similar look and feel through its ships so that guests get a consistency across the fleet.

Work on the Seven Seas Navigator will begin in France at the end of March in preparation for its French Riviera voyage from Barcelona to Rome in mid-April when it should return as a practically new vessel. Suites are being redesigned and the public space will be renovated and when it begins sailing again, it will offer its patrons all-day, every day gourmet dining on board.

The line plans to upgrade Seven Seas Voyager later this year and then turn its attention to the Seven Seas Mariner in the spring of next year. Jason Montague, said because the Navigator was one of its most popular ships, it is fitting that it should undergo such lavish refurbishing. He believes that the renovations will underline the company’s position as undisputed leader in the luxury cruise market.
