Travellers in Japan will be able to stay on a Japanese farm with a new farm stay option being offered by major travel agency JTB.

In an attempt to appeal to foreign visitors interested in a more off-the-beaten-track experience, JTB will arrange for tourists to stay in guesthouses at farms in Tochigi Prefecture, north of Tokyo, where they’ll be able to get to know the families and help with farm work. One night at a farm with two meals will cost around US$60. The move comes as demand for lodging options increases amid record numbers of tourists arriving in the country.
