Las Vegas is known for bright lights, glitzy shows and decadent casinos but a new development will add a decidedly greener touch to the famous Las Vegas Strip.

Simply called ‘The Park’, the new outdoor plaza is set to open in April and the development takes inspiration from the surrounding Mojave Desert. Featuring 200 mature desert trees, meta-quartzite stone (also known as Vegas Rock) and two water walls inspired by Nevada desert’s famous natural springs, it will be a different take on the Strip’s famous dramatic architecture. The development is the latest offering from MGM Resorts International and, while it will feature plenty of restaurants and shops, the team hope it will provide a “respite from the hustle and bustle of The Strip”.

In true Las Vegas style, the relaxation doesn’t have to last for long as The Park is situated between the Monte Carlo and the New York-New York casinos, meaning you’ll never be too far away from your favourite game of chance. One thing is for sure, The Park will not be short of visitors. Las Vegas smashed their previous tourism records last year with more than 42 million travellers coming to visit. The Las Vegas Strip was also recently named the top tourist attraction in the world by the World Travel Awards.
