Largest cruise ship ever seen in Cuba docks in Havana

The MSC Opera cruise ship arrived Friday in Havana after crossing the Atlantic from Italy; with almost 1800 passengers aboard, it is the largest cruise ship to ever dock in Cuba.

The city will be the liner’s port of call until April 2016, serving as a stop alongside other Caribbean destinations including the Cayman Islands, Jamaica and Mexico. The Opera can carry up to 2600 passengers and it will dock in Havana once a week starting in December 2016.
