Kyoto police have begun a crackdown on photographers illicitly filming female tourists at Kiyomizu-dera (Kiyomizu Temple), one of the city’s most famous tourist spots.
After several reported instances of women being filmed, and a complaint from a local souvenir shop, police established a patrol team to make arrests and issue warnings to those attempting to capture video and images of the underwear of women visiting the temple. Since September, four suspects have been apprehended and five warnings have been issued. Read more: tokyoreporter.com
