Already boasting a wide range of Kit Kat flavours – including green tea, sweet potato, and wasabi – Japan will soon get an exclusive sake-flavoured Kit Kat.

The new Kit Kat, to be launched by Nestlé Japan in February, is based on the Japanese traditional drink nihonshū (sake), and is made by incorporating sake powder in the wafers, which are then coated with white chocolate. A special nine-piece box in the shape of a sake bottle will be available with the launch. Last year Nestlé Japan also made headlines with the release of a gold-covered Kit Kat.
