Natan Obed, president of a national Inuit organization in Canada, has published an editorial calling for the Edmonton Eskimos to change their team name.
He says the Canadian Football League team’s name is offensive to the country’s indigenous community because it represents colonial policies. A spokesperson for the team says there are no plans to change the name in the immediate future. But both players and fans say the issue is something worth talking about. Read more: cbc.ca
