British Airways has unwittingly caused a Twitter storm in India after snubbing Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and losing the star’s luggage on a flight to Los Angeles for a T20 All Stars match.

Airline staff reportedly moved the Tendulkar’s entourage onto a waiting list and tagged his bags to the wrong destination, then asked the world’s most famous cricketer to confirm his name when he complained.

Tweeters have expressed outrage at the treatment of their sporting hero – ‘First you don’t return kohinoor, now @sachin_rt‘s  luggage also!’ tweeted one furious fan.
