The first ever India-Nepal motor rally is due to start next week in the Indian state of Odisha. The rally, which will cover 2500km over ten days, is part of a tourism drive to promote cross-border travel between the two countries and raise the profile of the many Buddhist historical sights in the border region. From Puri in Odisha, racers will cross the plains of Bihar via Bodhgaya and cross into Nepal at Biratnagar, continuing to Kathmandu, Pokhara, and the Buddha’s birthplace at Lumbini, before returning to India and finishing in Delhi.
