A martial arts centre in Moscow is offering a course in ‘mpd-fight’ (monopod fight), meaning self-defence skills for selfie-stick users.
According to the organisers of the course, people using smartphones in this way are automatically identified as tourists and they are making themselves easy targets for robbery, in which case their only means of defence is the selfie stick. The skills taught in the course require five lessons and are claimed to be effective against various types of martial arts such as boxing and wrestling. Read more: bbc.co.uk
