IKEA is known for its flat-pack furniture, but also for its food – it sells cheap and cheerful hot dogs around the world, as well as Swedish meatballs and Daim bar cake. But the company’s outlets in Japan have put a bit of a twist on the classic sausage in a roll. Their latest offering looks a little different to your average hot dog…

Yep, their new hot dog features a black coloured burger bun AND black sausage.

Known as the Ninja Dog, the bun and the sausage are both made with edible bamboo charcoal, which is said to have detoxing properties. The very Instagram-able treat was launched to celebrate ten years of the company in Japan, and retails for 300 yen.

Apparently it tastes completely normal, according to one Instagram user who tried it, and it’s topped with regular condiments like mustard and ketchup.
