Known for its kitschy Alaska decor and gold-mining inspired theme, the Sourdough Mining Company in Anchorage, Alaska, has closed its doors.

For 32 years the restaurant served visitors corn fritters and halibut nuggets beneath a high-ceilinged dining room festooned with Alaska icons like a stuffed grizzly bear and gold-mining equipment. The general manager of the restaurant said the restaurant’s highly seasonal business couldn’t maintain a profit. Fans of the Sourdough’s corn fritters need not fret – the GM promised they would make their way to the menu of The Peanut Farm, sister restaurant to the shuttered Sourdough. Read more: adn.com
