Honolulu Museum of Art helps fight artifact crime

The Honolulu Museum of Art is participating in an investigation of international antiquities smuggling. In cooperation with immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) agents, the museum identified seven items believed to be stolen as part of a case against Subash Kapoor, an art dealer in New York. One of the items is a 2000-year-old terracotta rattle. The items were brought to the museum through sales and donations that seemed legitimate, but ICE agents say the items were pillaged from a site in India. The items are being repatriated back to their home country. Read more: kitv.com
