Local businessmen and environmentalists have joined forces to pitch a battle against a developer that plans to convert southern Spain’s historic Trafalgar lighthouse into three luxury apartments.

The 110ft landmark is on the Costa de la Luz, about an hour’s drive from Gibraltar, and overlooks the site of Nelson’s Battle of Trafalgar. If construction goes ahead, the lighthouse and its surrounding clifftop grounds will no longer be accessible to the public. Read more: telegraph.co.uk
