The National Register of Historic Places has placed a phone booth on its list for the first time.
The classic booth was built in the 1950s and is still operational in St. Prairie, Arkansas. Phone booths were once ubiquitous across the USA , but their presence has dwindled to less than 500,000 in the era of the mobile phone. The St. Prairie phone booth only collects about $4 in revenue each year. Read more at: smithsonianmag.com
