Geologists in Colombia have discovered a “potentially dangerous” volcano that was previously unknown. The Colombian Geological Service reported that the volcano was discovered in the western part of the country in the Caldas state, close to the village of Florencia. It has been named “El Escondido,” Spanish for “The Hidden One,” because its shape is indistinguishable from surrounding slopes. It has been categorized as potentially active because it erupted as recently as 30,000 years ago. Read more: colombiareports.co
