After heavy rains and flooding, a landslide hit the city of Salvador in northeast Brazil on Monday, killing at least 14 people and injuring several others. Meteorologists report the rains as the heaviest in 20 years, with more than half of the monthly average falling in only ten hours. Rescue teams are still searching for a number of missing residents.
