Hawaii’s Waimanalo Bay named best beach

The annual list of the best beaches in the United States produced by Stephen Leatherman, the Director of Florida International University’s Laboratory for Coastal Research, or, as he’s also known, Dr Beach, has placed Waimanalo Bay Beach Park in Oahu, Hawaii in the top spot. The respected and anticipated list is created by evaluating the beaches of America according to 50 criteria including water and sand quality, as well as safety and restroom facilities. Of Waimanalo Bay, Dr Beach said ‘While not as stunning as some other Hawaiian beaches, it is a safe beach because big waves and dangerous currents are rare and lifeguards are present.
