North Korea has banned foreign runners from participating in its Pyongyang Marathon due to Ebola fears. The annual marathon, held each April since 1981, was only opened to foreign professional runners last year. Last October, North Korea closed its borders to all foreign travellers citing fears over the spread of the Ebola virus; no cases of Ebola have been reported in the country, however.
