Don’t call Florida’s cattle farmers cowboys. They prefer the term ‘cow hunter’ because wrangling and herding cows in swampland and sawgrass fields is a much different proposition than life on the Western range.
In only the third cattle drive in central Florida since 1995, this week sees more than 400 cow hunters in traditional garb driving cattle through the middle of the Panhandle State. The Great Florida Cattle Drive culminates at the Kenansville Silver Spurs Arena in a celebration this Saturday.
