British Virgin Islands Premier and Minister of Finance Dr. Orlando Smith has announced direct flights between Miami, Florida and Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport on Beef Island via the new British Virgin Island Airways.

The new airline is currently moving through the approval process by English and American governments, and flights are estimated to begin in the autumn of 2016. Airline officials anticipate that the service will start with three flights per week, though this may fluctuate during low and high travel seasons.
