First flights to Napoleon’s isle of St Helena announced

The remote south Atlantic island of St Helena, where Napoleon Bonaparte was exiled, is to get its first commercial air service next year, officials have announced. The island’s government said final negotiations were underway for the airline Comair to fly weekly from Johannesburg once the new airport has opened next year. The flights on the Boeing 737 will take four and a half hours, a stark contrast to the five days it now takes on an irregular mail service boat from Cape Town. Read more: news24.com
