When it comes to taking a trip, there’s nothing quite like waking up in a room with a view, and a picturesque location can make all the difference for travellers searching for peace, serenity and calmness. With that in mind, a new book has been released that charts some of the most beautiful and unique rental opportunities around the world, all of which have stunning mountain views.
Called Mountain View: The Perfect Holiday Homes; Nature Retreats Vol. I, the book is available from Lannoo Publishers, and is the first title in a new series called Nature Retreats. As well as showcasing the architecture and design of each of the properties, the book also provides practical information on how readers can go about visiting each place, as well as suggesting activities to do nearby. Compiled by journalist Sebastiaan Bedaux, the selection showcases 30 stylish hideouts in different locations all over the world, each one proving unique and individual.
The publication celebrates hidden gems surrounded by nature, either deep in the woods or high up in mountains, as well as buildings nestled by water. Properties include a modern mirrored home in Bolzano, Italy with breath-taking views of the Dolomites, a sustainable, concrete beauty in Cretas, Spain that showcases the Puertos de Beceite natural park, a desert hideaway in Death Valley, California, and a minimalist ski chalet in the Austrian Alps.
The book also showcases properties such as Hen House, an isolated, low impact house in the Isle of Skye in Scotland that offers quick access to the Cuillin Hills, as well as a simple and spacious holiday home in Hokkaidō, Japan that offers views of Mount Yōtei and includes a freestanding tub that overlooks a forest.
Mountain View: The Perfect Holiday Homes; Nature Retreats Vol. I is priced £45 ($62).
