A man and woman haul away green onions from a 60-hectare land rented by a farming company in Xingyang city in central China’s Henan province . The company decided to offer the onions for free to anyone willing to dig them up after falling prices make it unprofitable for commercial harvesting. In March, China’s central bank governor warned that economic growth had fallen too sharply and the country should be alert to the possibility of deflation or a damaging overall decline in prices.
