Fabulous new luxury boutique hotel in Copenhagen is epitome of Scandi style

A new luxury boutique hotel has opened in Copenhagen, and is the epitome of Scandi style. Sanders is owned and created by Danish ballet dancer, Alexander Kølpin, and the design is inspired by his personal experience and travels.

Situated in the historic centre of Copenhagen, just behind the Nyhavn Canal, guests are a stroll away from the royal residences of Amalienborg Palace, the old stage of the Royal Theatre, Christiansborg Palace and the Royal Danish Opera. Lining the neighbourhood’s cobbled lanes, guests will find countless quality restaurants, contemporary art galleries, museums and shopping.

The hotel is comprised of 54 rooms, including some that are inspired from a bygone era of luxury train cabins, and spacious apartments with separate lounge seating and open fireplace. According to the hotel, bespoke furniture offer hints of colonial décor, polished hardwood and rattan cane-couches result in a setting that is casual yet elegant, and “a peppering of Parisian sophistication and English eccentricity further adds to the charismatic mix.”

Entering the hotel, you’ll find The Living Room with brimming bookshelves and an open fireplace. Here you can hang out at the heart of the hotel and watch the comings and goings of visitors as you enjoy a coffee or cocktail. The Courtyard is a green oasis in the heart of the property where guests can have a drink and order food. This inner sanctuary is covered, and during the colder months, an open wood-burning fireplace is the perfect place to warm your spirits. You can go all hygge there by cosying up in a blanket with a good book.
