A big turkey dinner is a delicious way to mark the Christmas holiday, but just imagine if the entire meal was made of gourmet crisps.

Well, it’s now a reality in London, where HipChips – a restaurant dedicated entirely to gourmet crisps – has launched a festive new menu that turns all the Christmas dinner favourites into a three-course snack.
The HipChips Christmas dinner box features handmade crisps and sweet and savoury dips. The courses are “smoked salmon and pickled cucumbers to start, a traditional turkey dinner for main and for that ultimate festive finish – a sweet Christmas pudding and brandy sauce dip” – but all in crisp and dip form. The new meal will also be well-paired with beer and wine, so the restaurant has matched it with a curated selection of craft beer, wines, cocktails and soft drinks.

The restaurant opened last year in SoHo in London on Old Compton Street, much to the delight with everyone who is tired of a simple bag of crisps. At HipChips, they are cut and cooked right in front of patrons so they can enjoy the freshest fried potatoes possible. The restaurant even uses four different kinds of heritage and vintage potatoes so you can feel like you’re at least getting a bit of your daily vegetables.

Beyond the holiday menu, HipChips usually offers up crisps with unusual dips like Katsu curry, baba ganoush, and Moroccan yoghurt and pickled onion cheese fondue. Sweet crisps are sprinkles with cinnamon sugar right after frying and then paired with pudding dips for a sweet treat. If you want to enjoy the indulgent meal from the comfort of home, it’s even available on UberEats.
