A teenage blogger saved £7.72 on a journey between Sheffield and Essex by going via Berlin.
Jordon Cox found that a train ticket cost £47, while flying to Berlin and back, including airport buses, cost less than £40. He flew from East Midlands Airport and back to Stansted Airport, spending the day sightseeing in Berlin. The journey took him an extra 1000 miles. He said “I know that flying is not very environmentally friendly and I won’t do this every time I travel, however this was the cheapest way for me to get home and I got to enjoy a ‘free’ mini holiday to a city I’ve always wanted to visit.”
