The Galapagos Islands are in a state of emergency after a cargo ship ran aground and spilled fuel in its pristine waters last week. The Floreana vessel was carrying food and supplies, including 10,000 gallons of fuel, to the islands, which are famous for their unique flora and animal species. Rescue teams are working to refloat and remove the ship and booms are being used to contain the spill. Read more: bbc.com
