A regional tourism office has launched a campaign that allows travellers to visit the best gardens in eastern Ontario. Officially opening 19 June, the trail takes visitors to private and public gardens around the region, including the Shakespearean Garden of Prescott, Ontario, which contains plants mentioned in the Bard’s plays, and the Maitland Garden of Hope that contains a monarch butterfly garden, a Zen garden and an apiary. The nine destinations along the trail link Confederation Park in Gananoque to Johnstown’s evergreen labyrinth. Read more: canada.com
