A Dutch restoration firm has offered its services for free to help restore Pietro Bernini’s 17th century Fontana della Barcaccia in Rome’s Piazza di Spagna after it was vandalised by rampaging fans of the football team Feyenoord. The Dutch football hooligans broke over 200 pieces off the famous shipwreck-shaped fountain, which had only just been renovated, in a ten-month, €200,000 project which was completed in September 2014.
