A new museum opening in Dubai will showcase a 4000 year old civilisation that once existed there.

The museum will house artefacts from the Sarooq Al Hadeed archaeological site, including rare metallic objects, ornaments, mud pots, decorated daggers and swords. A house in the heritage village of Shindagha will be converted into a temporary home for the museum, with plans for the exhibit to be relocated to a bigger museum in the next three years. Dubai’s Director of the Architectural Heritage Department, Rashad Mohammed Bukhash, reported that the Shindagha area will eventually be home to 50 museums housing historical exhibits relating to Dubai and the UAE.
