Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad has partnered with Fropcorn, a travel entertainment venture, to help passengers cure their in-flight boredom. By downloading the Fropcorn app, users at the airport can get entertainment on demand before boarding their flight by using a Fropcorn hotspot located at the domestic terminal.

The company says users can download movies, TV shows or videos to their phone in three minutes without needing a data connection. The users can watch their films in-flight – a big plus for those flying on low-cost carriers without a wide array of entertainment options. The app uses Wi-Fi enabled media servers to create a secure hotspot where users can access the app’s content and download what they want while they wait.

The content catalogue includes hundreds of high quality movies across multiple genres and languages, according to the company. For two weeks, users will be able to download movies from the app’s catalogue for free, but then the prices will rise to 50 to 100 rupees ($0.75 – $1.50), reports NDTV. While there is currently only one Fropcorn download site in the airport, there are plans for expansion, according to the airport.
