Ever wondered what the most popular US vacation destinations are? Well now you can find out, or at least what the most Instagram-worthy ones are, thanks to a top 25 list by Time magazine.

 

Time compiled the list of the most popular vacation spots using Instagram data gathered over Memorial Day weekend.

Studying thousands of Instagram photos shared over the holiday weekend, including hashtags like ‘vacation’ and ‘travelgram’, along with geotags, the team put together a list of the most popular destinations.

 

New York came in first, with over 10,620 photos shared from in the city. Central Park was the most popular location for a travel snap.

Next up was Los Angeles, California, with 4900 photos and Venice Beach racking up the most Instagrams.

 

 

Also in California, San Francisco came in third, with 4002 photos shared. The iconic Golden Gate Bridge was the most captured spot.

 

 

Miami Beach, Florida came in fourth with 3,079 photos, and South Beach, Miami getting the most snaps.

Next up was Chicago, Illinois, with 3,017 Instagrams, and Millennium Park chosen as the most ‘grammed.

 

Las Vegas, Nevada, Hawaii’s Honolulu, Orlando, Florida and California’s San Diego and Santa Monica, California all made the top ten.

 

 

Time warned the list was not comprehensive, as “it’s not possible to know for sure that every tagged photo is from a person on vacation.”
