The legend of David Attenborough is unsurpassable as one of Britain’s most beloved broadcasters but now he’s the central theme in a new series of raves popping up all over the UK.
At David Attenborough’s Jungle Boogie, revellers can bop to a mix of disco, house, funk and soul amidst a special rainforest-themed decor. You’ll be greeted by the man himself (in cardboard cutout form) and there will be hundreds of David Attenborough masks given away on the night so you can bring home a piece of him with you.
The best part, of course, is that on the night you’ll be surrounded by beautiful episodes of Planet Earth and Blue Planet providing the visuals. The Attenborough parties are the brainchild of Good Life Events and director Will Burbage spoke to Lonely Planet about his inspiration, called Attenborough a “national treasure”.
“Sir David is such an icon amongst the youth”, he said. “We admire his ability to fascinate and entice such a young audience into learning about nature, as well as the social and political issues which surround it.”
As well as being the perfect opportunity to dance the night away, a portion of the profits will also be donated to the World Land Trust, an international conservation charity that counts David Attenborough himself as one of the patrons.
The UK shows describe themselves as being for “fans of nature and disco” and recently have been selling out venues with a capacity of between 600 and 800 people, a hugely positive response which Will calls “genuinely shocking”.
“We’re so grateful for the coverage. We were trending at number one on Google and Reddit this week which wasn’t expected but received graciously!”
David Attenborough’s Jungle Boogie is coming to venues all over the UK in the coming weeks and you can find your closest one on their Facebook page.
